Selling Websites for a Living? 2 Easy Ways to Add $500 To Every Transaction

If you are selling websites for a living... the simple truth is, you are probably leaving a lot of money on the table. It amazes me how many smart, savvy and opportunistic entrepreneurs "settle" for flipping a website for 3 or 4 hundred dollars, when they can quite easily build in a whole host of powerful profit centers... without doing all that much more work. (and being able to cut back dramatically on the amount of clients they take to earn a living)
For example, the marketplace, as most of you already know, for small $300-$500 websites is infinite. Most small business expect to pay at least that much, and look at that sort of purchase as in investment, not as a expense.
But, the problem is... the marketplace for 4 and 5 figure websites is significantly smaller as you go UP in price. There are still a lot of potential buyers at $1000, for example... but exponentially LESS at $3K, still less at 5K and when you get into the 5 figure range, there aren't many opportunities at all. (unless you are an established brand in the web industry, rather than a home based business like many of us are)
Here is the "Secret". Adding on valuable services that are both inexpensive, but can can be bundled into the transaction, can electrify your business and reframe your offer in a way that not only makes you more attractive to clients, but makes you FAR more profitable as well.
Let's look at 2 simple ones below.
1 Email Marketing Campaigns
One thing I ALWAYS do when we build a small local business site is add a styled aweber, or commercial auto-responder form into the sidebar. Why? Because when you tell the client that you'll take it off unless they have an account... (in a friendly way of course) 80% of the time they'll sign up for the service. (giving you an easy affiliate commission that will add a minimum of $75 bucks to the transaction)
More importantly, however... if you do email marketing yourself, and understand how to write follow up emails, sequence them and track their success, you are not only adding a tremendous value to your clients, (as relationship marketing on ALL levels is key, and will help THEM grow) you'll also be offering a turn key service to a captive audience who will pay you great money to put it all together. For example, I know a woman who sets up email marketing campaigns for doctors and dentists and charges several hundred bucks an hour, JUST for that. (and gets it)
2 - Super simple SEO
I really think that the SEO market overall is a big scam. That said, on a local level, if you are selling websites to professionals in your community, it's very easy to give their natural rankings a BIG bump... simply by building some simple incoming link campaigns on your own blogs, that "point" to your clients sites, and do so in a white hat and ethical way.
The point is, for YOU it's a very easy way to add a significant profit center (even $50 a month is a steal of a deal for them... and adds $600 to your bottom line, per transaction) but for them... it helps their new website do better, far faster... in the search results to boot. (and is a great way for YOU to get far more clients outside of the "web selling" marketplace, and can actually become your PRIMARY money maker in a few short months if you promote yourself properly!)
Remember, it's MUCH easier to make $3K per client, over the course of a 12 month period of time, than it is to have to find 10 new clients to buy another 300 dollar website. And of course, once you get to 20, 30 or 50 clients... using the above approach, you are making REAL money and building a real business and truly living a lifestyle you'll love.
