Essentially when you are planning to market a product on the Internet the first thing that you must NOT think is "How am I going to make money???"
This is a trap that many budding Internet entrepreneurs fall foul of. Instead, think "How can I add value?" and "What do people need?" By thinking this way you are not immediately trying to sell whatever product it is that you have to your customer.
Instead you are offering that person value in an area, which they have an interest in. In turn you will begin building a relationship with that person. What do I mean by value?
By value I mean good informative content. By creating something like an eBook or Newsletter, which can be offered to someone for free you will begin to build a relationship with that person.
People will instantly switch off if they feel like they are being used as a cash cow! The other area you need to consider before you start is... "What will be my niche?"
By niche I mean specialist the area which you will sell your product in. The 3 key niche markets that are booming at this moment in time are Health, Wealth and Lifestyle.
Once you have found your niche find out what solutions people are looking for within it. Are they looking to Stop Smoking? Do they want to learn How to Meet Their Ideal Partner?
Research, Research and Research is key. The more you investigate your chosen niche the more you will begin to understand what people are looking for within it. You don't need to be the brains of Britton to start an online business but you do need to learn the basics.
Remember most careers take years of training before you can become really competent in your chosen field. Internet marketing does take some work but it won't take you 3 years to learn the basics in order to start making some money.
